RBU got set up under Punjab act no. 16 of 2014. That came through notification no. 17-leg/2014 on 13th August 2014. UGC notified it under section 22 of the UGC act 1956. They empowered it to award degrees with letter No. 8-23/2014 (CPP-I/PU dated 26th Sept 2014 from the University Grants Commission. You know, it's right there near Chandigarh. The city beautiful, they call it. And the campus of Rayat Bahra University, RBU, sits pretty much within easy reach of all that. The place has grown a lot.
