With a team of devoted, knowledgeable and competent professors, the department has experienced tremendous growth in the academic and research fields. Chief research areas comprise of Image Processing, Multimedia Mining, Evolutionary Computing, Network Security and Wireless Networks. The setting up of research laboratories and R & D centers all over the country and even abroad has enhanced the pride and prestige of the department not only in India but also overseas. The department regularly interacts with software companies to keep its syllabus at par with industry standards which in turn has helped make students well prepared for the job market.
