NMC recognized 3 year course in DM Cardiology. Currently the department has 3 seats. The department of cardiology stated its services in 2006 with outpatient services and has rapidly improved its infrastructure and capabilities. Apart from dedicated Cardiac Cathlab and Cardiac ICU, the cardiology ward houses 20 inpatient teaching beds as well. Bed side ECHO has been the norm since 2009. DM cardiology courses were started in 2011 and in 2019 it was increased to 3 seats per year.

SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre offers 3 ladies hostel –Dr Muthulakshmi hostel,Dr B.C Roy hostel and Nightangle hostel for the ladies students pursuing medical, health science and allied health science courses. The hostels are well-equipped.,with ,modern amenities and offers both AC and non-AC accommodation. Hostels are located at walkable distance from the college and hospital.

All the rooms are fully furnished with some of the rooms having attached bathrooms with cold and hot water facilities. Hostel mess serves hygienic food and offers a variety of food items to cater to the diversity of students.
A common playground and a basketball court is available and is accessible to all the girls’ hostel students. Other amenities like indoor games, laundry facility, and SRM Wellness centre ensure the utmost comfort for the students. Supermarkets, shops, photocopier service and all the other shops catering to the daily requirement of the students are also available near the premises outside the campus.
24 hours supervision also available to address the students’ needs .Visitor hall is available within the hostel to receive guests and visitors.
Sports facilities
SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre supports students in both academic and extracurricular activities. We have a gym, air-conditioned gymnasia with trainers, basketball court, tennis court and football field. There are facilities for indoor sports in the campus, both faculty and students can join. Physical recreation through games and sports has been an important part of the Institute.
