Dharmsinh Desai University (DDU), located in Nadiad, Gujarat, has been a trusted name in higher education since its establishment in 1968. Founded initially as Dharmsinh Desai Institute of Technology (DDIT) by Shri Dharmsinh Desai, a visionary leader and Member of Parliament, the institution began with a strong focus on Engineering and Technology. Over the decades, it has steadily grown, gaining autonomous status in 1991, becoming a Deemed University in 2000, and achieving full university status in 2005. With this transformation, DDU expanded its horizons, introducing new faculties such as Dental Surgery in 2005 and Pharmacy in 2006, and later pioneering Nanotechnology courses in Gujarat in 2012. Recently, it further strengthened its portfolio by starting a Medical College in 2019–20, underscoring its commitment to innovation and excellence.
