About us
Swami Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhana Samsthana (S-VYASA), a Category I Deemed University established in 2002, aims to advance Yoga as a relevant science. S-VYASA uniquely integrates the teachings of Swami Vivekananda with modern scientific research, merging Eastern Yoga and spiritual wisdom with Western scientific methods. The university emphasizes practical experience, in-depth research, and community outreach, promoting peace, harmony, health, and happiness.
Recognized as the first ISO-certified Yoga University, S-VYASA employs the Gurukula System of Education alongside contemporary scientific approaches. It has been designated as a ‘Centre of Excellence in Yoga’ by the Department of AYUSH, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, and hosts an Advanced Centre for Research in Yoga & Naturopathy, supported by the Indian Council of Medical Research.
The university offers a range of well-structured Yoga courses and boasts 114 PhDs, 51 MScs, and over 410 students across various branches. To date, it has produced 95 PhDs and 49 MDs. Located on a picturesque 100-acre campus called Prashanti Kutiram, 30 km from central Bengaluru and near Bannerghatta National Park, S-VYASA provides an inspiring environment for study and research.
