About University of Mysore
The University of Mysore, founded on July 27, 1916, is one of the oldest universities in India, and the first university in Karnataka. It was also the first university in India that has been established outside the limits of the British India. The founding of the University can be attributed to Maharaja Nalvadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar IV and Sir M. Visvesvaraya's vision that the University would be established in Mysore. With this lofty ideal, its accomplishment was achieved when it became the author's first university to secure the NAAC’s Five Star certification in the year 2000 including programs likemaster of science degree. The University is in a naturally beautiful city of Mysuru, which has rich cultural heritage found in the various art forms, palaces and temples, gardens, and culture of the land of Mysuru.
