Founded in 1929, Samarkand State University of Veterinary Medicine, Livestock and Biotechnologies is a premier government institution in Uzbekistan backed by a 95-year legacy of academic excellence. Operating directly under the mandate of three key national bodies—the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovations, the Committee for the Development of Veterinary Medicine and Livestock, and the Ministry of Agriculture—the university serves as a primary hub for veterinary education and research in Central Asia.
The university operates across a single consolidated campus featuring six main buildings, housing five specialized faculties focused on Veterinary Prevention and Diagnosis, Livestock, Biotechnology, and Economics. With an active student body of nearly 6,000 students and a distinguished faculty of over 300 academic staff—including 24 professors and 147 associate professors—the institution offers 19 main fields of study completely integrated with global research networks like the World Bank, FAO, USAID, and Erasmus+.
