The Central Library spans 8,000 sq. ft., offering nearly 31,000 books, 3 million e-books, e-journals, and specialised collections in multiple languages. Along with reading corners and solo study areas, students have access to a University Book Bank, which provides all course materials each semester — even couriered to their homes if needed.
Specialised Labs & Workshops
The University’s 10,000 sq. ft. workshop is fitted with modern machinery for hands-on training. Each department maintains advanced laboratories, including a language lab to refine communication skills.
For agriculture students, there’s an extensive Agriculture & Fisheries Science Project Area featuring polyhouses, net houses, aquaponics units, experimental fields, specialised labs, and mechanised farming equipment. The department is also developing unique facilities like a plant tissue culture unit, food science lab, mushroom and sericulture units, and orchards.
Fisheries students benefit from several well-maintained ponds for practical training, research, and innovation in aquaculture.
Marine Training Excellence
TNU stands out with its Ship-in-Campus, featuring a 4000 BHP, 32-ton engine, and complete onboard machinery for real-world marine training. The Bridge Simulator replicates a shipboard environment, allowing nautical science cadets to gain authentic navigational experience. Additionally, TNU is among the first in India to have a Free-Fall Davit training facility, preparing students for the challenges of marine operations.
Law & Cultural Facilities
Law students practice advocacy skills in a fully functional Moot Court, simulating real legal proceedings. The Multipurpose Hall (13,000 sq. ft.) hosts seminars, cultural programs, indoor sports, and student-led events.
