Scholarship Terms & Conditions – Session 2025–26
General Rules
The decision of the University Management regarding scholarships is final and cannot be challenged.
A Family Income Certificate must be issued by an “A1 Gazetted Officer” / BDO / SDO / ADM / DM (or equivalent authority) and, wherever applicable, supported by an affidavit signed by the student or guardian.
For Undergraduate (UG) courses, scholarship eligibility will be calculated based on:
Higher Secondary (Class XII) marks from the best five subjects, or
Diploma marks, or
WBJEE Rank, or
JEE Mains Rank (Applicable to all recognised and valid boards)
The scholarship criteria mentioned do not apply to Postgraduate (PG) and Vocational courses.
For Lateral Entry courses, the scholarship will be calculated based on the overall Diploma marks.
For the Gramotthan and Special Hill Students’ Scholarships, students must submit permanent resident proof.
Students applying for the Chancellor’s Scholarship must do so separately after final admission. Selection will be based on an interview and document verification by an empowered committee.
Continuation Criteria
To maintain the scholarship in subsequent semesters, students must:
Pass in all subjects in the current semester.
Achieve a minimum SGPA of 6.5.
Not attend Summer Classes (as these indicate a shortfall in performance or attendance).
Submit the scholarship application with all required supporting documents to the Registrar’s Office within the stipulated time after final admission.
Maintain the required attendance; students going to summer school due to short attendance will lose scholarship eligibility for the next semester. (Attendance criteria may vary each semester — for Odd Semester 2024, it was 50%)
Additional Conditions
A student can benefit from only one scholarship scheme at a time.
Scholarships for International Students (other than Nepal, Bhutan, and Bangladesh) are covered under a separate policy.
The maximum scholarship benefit is up to 100% of tuition fees.
