B.Sc. Food Processing Technology & Management
The B.Sc. Food Processing Technology & Management programme is designed to develop both the technical expertise and managerial skills required in the food industry. Over six semesters, students study a wide range of subjects including food science, principles of nutrition, nutritional biochemistry, food preservation, bakery and confectionery technology, food biotechnology, food product development, sensory science, and food packaging technology. The curriculum also covers important areas such as functional foods, nutraceuticals, and food safety and quality assurance, ensuring a complete understanding of the food production cycle.
The programme integrates skill-based learning with certification opportunities to enhance employability. Students can pursue Coursera certification courses, as well as government-recognised certifications such as FSSAI’s FoSTaC and RWTP DSIR–SSC training. Additional job-oriented courses and coaching for competitive exams in the food sector further strengthen career readiness. Global exposure is a key highlight, with opportunities such as the Erasmus+ Global Immersion Programme in Europe and guidance on international scholarships such as DAAD, Chevening, and JSPS.
Practical learning is emphasised through internships and industry visits to leading food and FMCG companies, including Milky Mist, Hindustan Unilever, Britannia, Cadbury, Aavin, Nestlé, ITC, PepsiCo, and others. This hands-on experience helps students understand real-world operations and industry expectations.
