About University of Mumbai
The University of Mumbai (formerly University of Bombay)one of the oldest Universities in India. It was formed in 1857 following “Wood’s Education Dispatch”, and is one of the first three Universities in India. Recently its name has been changed from University of Bombay to University of Mumbai, in sequentially too with the renaming of the city which had occurred a few years back from Bombay to Mumbai. The University was given the status of 5 Star in 2001 & ‘A++’ grade in April 2017 by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).
