Eligibility Criteria for B.A. in History, Economics, and Political Science (HEP) at Roots Collegium, Hyderabad

  1. For direct entry, candidates should have passed 10+2 or Inter from a registered board/school.
  2. An applicant should have passed the qualifying examination from a recognised institution with an aggregate of at least 50%.
  3. The course is available to students from all three streams—Arts, Commerce, and Science —making it accessible to students across the board.
  4. English should have been studied as a compulsory subject at 10+2 to be eligible for the course, since we do a lot of reading, writing and analytical work.
  5. Admission is based on merit, determined by marks scored in 10+2; there are no written or entrance examinations.
  6. Final-year 10+2 students may also apply provisionally, but they will need to submit their final marksheet by the admissions deadline.
  7. In addition to test scores, the college seeks students who love history and are curious about its legacy, who are interested in political structures and civic engagement, and who are curious about the economic forces that shape society.
