Highlights This course will impart a hands-on, skill oriented intense curriculum on Indian Cuisine and Culture. The programme will examine the central place of cuisine in Indian culture and society. This course uses practical experiences in cooking to understand the importance of cuisine in cultural practices. This course will focus on all aspects of Indian cuisine and food culture including cuisines from all over India, Regional and Sub-Regional Indian Cuisines, Tandoor, Halwai, Indian Breads, Breakfast cookery, Ayurveda & healthy cooking, and volume cookery. Our approach to gastronomy is hands-on and we draw our inspiration from a wide variety of culinary traditions.

Welcomgroup Graduate School of Hotel Administration (WGSHA) was established in 1986 as a unit of Dr TMA Pai Foundation, Manipal; It had its first academic cycle in 14 July 1987 with 60 students, ITC Hotels facilitated the beginning of this college and the hotel management college came under the purview of the Manipal University from 1 June 2003. In the decades since, WGSHA has become India’s number one hotel management college to receive international accolades, making it into the top ranking of hospitality schools worldwide. The institute provides various programmes such as the BHM, BA in Culinary arts, BA in Hospitality and Services management as well as postgraduate programmes such as the MHM, MSc. in Dietetics & Applied Nutrition, and M.A. in Indian Cuisine & Food Culture.
